About Adele

AdeleI have been very fortunate with my education and business experience throughout my life. I have been able to hold my head above the water when going through this divorce journey. As an honors graduate of Seneca College's Advanced Accounting & Finance Program, I bring over 20 years of senior accounting experience. I am familiar with all avenues of accounting, from financial statement and budget preparations to liaisons with corporate heads, bank managers and lawyers.

My parents always tried teaching me right from wrong. My children have taught me unconditional love. My family has taught me perseverance and dedication. My friends have taught me acceptance. My experiences have taught me how to live. This is who I am; I am made up of all these people and life experiences.

I'm still on my journey of self-discovery and constantly learn new things about myself. With strongly rooted values I continue to grow and appreciate all that life has given me. No matter what struggles I have gone through, and there are many, I look at each opportunity as a chance to learn and grow. My deepest desire is to help you turn your struggles into opportunities for growth.

My Journey

For the longest time I believed myself to be one of the luckiest people in the world. I had a wonderful husband, three loving adorable children, and family and friends surrounding me. I was working with my spouse in our own business, and doing what I loved to do. Everything was in place, nothing seemed to be missing. What else was there?

I overlooked issues and questions so I could stick with the status quo. I lived the life and lived it well. I ignored the signs until one day I was told "It's over!" My husband was not happy and wanted to move on...

Separation

My separation was not just a defining moment for me; it was a devastating crush. It was followed by years of hurt, confusion and self-sabotaging. I was lost for the longest time.

During the course of my marriage, I became my husband's wife and my children's mother but I lost my own identity. I gave everyone else an opportunity to come out and play, but I never went down the slide myself. My husband fell in love with me when we met, because I was ME. When I lost that person, I lost my husband.

After my separation, I embarked on every possible "journey" I could travel on. Some have worked for me and I still believe in, while others were what was needed in the moment, and have gone by the wayside. It has taken many years for me to remember who I am. I've been finding myself and growing into someone that I'm really pleased with.

A Realization

Through this process, I came to the realization that I did not want to see others go through similar difficulty. I had a deep desire and urge to help others, but was confused and uncertain as to how to do it.

In 2009, it came to me. I wanted to put the power back where it belongs, with YOU! We fall victim too fast and too hard. We are our own worst enemies. We need to be informed; once armed with information we can make accurate choices and decisions based on what we truly believe is good for us, rather than on assumptions.

That's where this program comes in. Whether you need personal life essentials coaching or essential facts on the divorce process, I am here to help you achieve what you need to get yourself back and on track!

Wisdom that I have gained along the way

You will get bits of information from everyone and then focus on that bit of information. This can cause repeated trips down the wrong path. No divorce is the same. Each of us needs to make decisions on the facts and only you know your situation...

Learn to rely on yourself, no one but you walks in your shoes, so learn to make the decisions yourself and not leave them to others to make.

Each of us must gain the ability to figure out on our own what we need to do. It is important for each person to take responsibility.

When I learned to approach my situation differently and no longer fear it, I took its power away and it no longer controlled me. We all have this within ourselves we just need support and encouragement.

I will guide you through your own personal journey and in the process you will learn that you are creative, resourceful and whole and will find balance. Once you have that desire to take action and help yourself, I will be there to help you achieve your goals. We all have obstructions in our personal or professional lives. Whatever the obstacle, once we recognize it we are acknowledging it. With support, you can overcome anything.

Learning is not just something we do when we're young, we do it on a daily basis even unknowingly, but I have chosen to further my education. I have completed a certification journey that includes both an in-depth 5 program series that is widely recognized as the most dynamic in the industry and an additional in-depth 6 month program. I am now a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC).
